NEW HOPE OF MCDOWELL
Are you interested in volunteering with New HOPE of McDowell? We would love to have you! Volunteers are an important part of our agency and are involved in almost every aspect of our services and programs. Below are some of the volunteer positions we have available. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us for an application by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Court Advocate Volunteer*
Assist our court advocate(s) on court days when domestic violence orders are heard, typically Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. Court advocate volunteers ensure that clients receive their paperwork, advocate for victims, and more. Must be 18 or older to volunteer for this position.
Client Services Advocate Volunteer*
Volunteer at our emergency shelter and have a chance to work with victims on a one-on-one basis. Client Services Advocates do everything from assisting clients with domestic violence protective order paperwork, case management, answering the crisis hotline, carrying out supportive groups at the shelter, and more. Must be 18 or older to volunteer for this position.
Would you like to volunteer but don't have a lot of time to dedicate to our agency? This may be the perfect volunteer opportunity for you. Check out our Events page to see what upcoming events are scheduled. If you see events that you are interested in volunteering for, please contact Jennifer or Savannah to find out more about volunteering!
Are you handy around the house? Can you fix almost anything? We would love to have you as a maintenance volunteer. Because our emergency shelter is housed in a building that is over 100 years old, we are constantly in need of small repairs and people who can repair them!
Thrift Store Volunteer*
Do you love thrift shopping? Would you like some retail and customer service experience? Then come join us as a volunteer at one of our Outreach Thrift Stores! Thrift Store Volunteers assist with sorting donations, hanging and arranging items, cleaning the store, running the cash register, and more.
If you are interested in volunteering with us but are unsure about how your particular skills or interests will fit with the opportunities available, please contact us! We always have a need for volunteers for special tasks and are happy to work with you.
Volunteer positions marked with an (*) require special training before taking on responsibilities. Special training is provided by New HOPE.
